What makes 3D rugs so special

Rugs with a 3D effect have an appearance that stands out clearly from other rugs. The 3D effect is often achieved with the so-called cut & loop technique, in which the harmonious surface texture is created by alternating rows of cut pile yarns (cuts) and closed pile loops (loops). 3D rugs also owe their special appearance to a process called heatset frisé, which makes the rug fibres curl strongly, creating different heights and depths, more volume and a particularly dense, soft pile.

3D rugs are robust, stable and hard-wearing. Because they are made of synthetic fibres, they are resistant to rubbing and abrasion. They do not shed, and with good care they do not lose quality. Their lovely pile brings comfort, cosiness and warm feet. What is more, they are easy to care for, reduce impact noise and are suitable for floors with underfloor heating.

How to keep your 3D rug beautiful for longer

Caring for a 3D rug includes regular vacuuming. This removes crumbs and coarse dirt and stops them from working deeper into the fibres. It is advisable to vacuum the high-pile zones on the lowest setting and to avoid any pulling or tugging. Stains should be dabbed off with a damp cloth as soon as possible. If the soiling and signs of wear are too heavy, rugs with a 3D effect do not necessarily need professional rug cleaning. In most cases they can also be cleaned and cared for easily and thoroughly at home.

Small polypropylene rugs can be washed in the washing machine, usually at 40 degrees. Please always follow the manufacturer's cleaning instructions. After washing, make sure the rug dries completely. Larger rugs can be treated with a wet shampoo, carpet powder or carpet spray. All products are applied to the rug according to the manufacturer's instructions and thoroughly vacuumed off after the recommended exposure time.
