How Are Our Rugs Made?
The story of Morgenland Rugs begins in the 20th century in Afghanistan. Originally founded as 'Rug Madjidian' in Kabul, the family business quickly grew and expanded into wholesale, employing up to 200 weavers. Initially focused on fine Afghan silk rugs, wool rugs from various regions were later added to the collection.The civil war led to the closure of the business, but in 1998 the family made a fresh start in Germany. Nader Madjidian resumed his craft, and in 2007 the family founded a new rug company in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt. Under the leadership of the eldest son, Kabir Madjidian, the company began selling on eBay. Initially sourcing rugs locally, they later expanded to regions like Persia and India. They took control of the entire production chain, with the first manufacturing taking place in India. Today, Morgenland Rugs is an established producer and seller through its own webshop, with warehouses in Speicherstadt and a showroom in Hamburg.

Today, he plays a key role in the company's sustainable growth. His motivation lies in customer satisfaction – with heart and soul, he strives to delight every single client.
Nader Madjidian
As head of the family, Nader Madjidian took on responsibility for his family’s well-being early on. He chose to follow his passion for rugs at a young age and still firmly believes that he found his true calling back then. For him, rugs are a symbol of Eastern lifestyle, culture, and tradition. His enduring motivation is to help every customer find the perfect rug to transform their home.
