A sheepskin rug is a lovely alternative to woven rugs. The wool is soft, and your feet sink into the soft fibers as you walk. Sheep's wool has remarkable resilience: it springs back up immediately after being walked on.

The sheepskin is processed with great care and effort. Through what is known as tanning, the animal hide is turned into leather. Before tanning, the skins are completely cleaned of dust and excess wool grease. After washing, tanning and drying, the rug receives its finishing touches. The wool is trimmed evenly, groomed and contoured. The beautiful, soft fleece becomes fluffy, airy and soft with a silky sheen.

As a result, the rug hardly sheds any hairs, and the outstanding properties of sheep's wool come into their own.
 

Stylish and comfortable

In the age of synthetic fibers, high-quality tanned natural skins have a touch of luxury.

A sheepskin rug is pleasant in both heat and cold. The tiny air cushions between the hairs keep it warm in winter and cool in summer.

Anyone who wants to buy a rug made of sheepskin is making a good choice, as it is wonderful for insulating cool floors (e.g. stone tiles – in the bathroom too). A large sheepskin rug looks like a warm, soft cloud in the room. It creates relaxation, romance and well-being. A gray sheepskin rug is a good match for dark floors. A black sheepskin rug makes a beautiful contrast to light furnishings. It also looks great on fine parquet.

Care

Air the sheepskin rug regularly and brush it out occasionally with a clothes brush that is not too stiff. Please do not put it in the washing machine. Only so-called medical sheepskins (baby sheepskins etc.) are suitable for this – with a special detergent. For a thorough clean, specialist companies will restore your rug perfectly.

A sheepskin rug is a natural product that conveys warmth and a sense of security. Small children love crawling on a sheepskin.

For our rugs, the raw skins are carefully selected and the wool quality is checked by hand. Only healthy, strong animals have a beautiful coat with dense, soft hair. No two sheepskin rugs are alike.

Sheepskin is a by-product, as the animals are bred for their meat. The rug is sustainable; with good care, genuine sheepskin lasts a very long time and still looks beautiful after years. It does not always have to be white. We offer black sheepskin rugs, gray sheepskin rugs and other colors.

If you like natural materials, genuine sheepskin is a dream material for a rug. The fur is soft, cozy and pleasant. The underside of the skin consists of smoothly sanded, soft leather.

On a tiled floor, a large sheepskin rug feels wonderfully warm underfoot. Wool absorbs moisture and improves the indoor climate. The rug is also easy to look after in everyday use. Give it a good shake from time to time and comb it with a coarse hairbrush. In winter, you can lay it fur side down in fresh powder snow and then beat it out. The genuine sheepskin will look as good as new again.
