This Koliai carpet is of very good quality. The 'Turkish knot' provides the robust and thick surface. The patterns often consist of geometric figures. Koliai rugs are considered one of the better nomadic rugs. They are traditionally hand-knotted in the villages around the Iranian city of Hamedan. Each carpet is an imaginative individual piece. Small irregularities in the pattern indicate this. Koliais are beautiful utility rugs with an attractive price-performance ratio.
