Rustic charm, warm natural tones in indigo blue and red and special durability characterise the Hamedan. Hand-spun Iranian highland wool gives it a soft sheen. The "Turkish knot" provides the robust surface. Hamedans are considered the simplest of Persian carpets. They are traditionally hand-knotted in the villages around the Iranian city of Hamedan. Each carpet is an imaginative individual piece. Small irregularities in the pattern indicate this. Hamedans are beautiful utility rugs with an attractive price-performance ratio.
