A piece of the Orient for your home! This Bijar carpet comes from a small Kurdish town in western Persia and is renowned for its durability and strength thanks to its particularly tight weave created by the traditional Turkish knot. This technique makes the carpet resistant to dirt and ensures its longevity: its pile is pressed together so tightly with a comb that it stands almost upright. The Herati pattern is popular as a design, but medallion and floral patterns are also common.
